Il titolo vuole indicare che la mostra presenta “carte d’arte”, cioè tutte le opere esposte sono lavori su e/o con carta. Abbiamo scelto diverse tecniche, dal disegno alla fotografia, dal collage al fumetto, dall’illustrazione alla “scultura” ricoperta di carta; allo stesso tempo diversa è la provenienza degli artisti, dall’alto Nord al basso Sud, dal Centro dell’Italia senza tralasciare quelli della terra umbra; differente sono anche l’età e i curricula degli artisti, comunque tutti di ottimo livello, sia quelli già affermati sia quelli che sono ancora agli inizi del loro percorso. La “carta” è un materiale che ha sempre affascinato gli artisti, al di là delle specificazioni operative di ciascuno, così ci sono gli scultori che amano il disegno, appunto di scultura, i disegni, progettuali ma non solo, degli architetti, i disegni dei pittori e dei disegnatori tout court, e allo stesso tempo la carta è materiale per i collage e il decollage e per le stampe fotografiche. La mano scorre sul foglio quasi guidata da una forza che promana dal foglio stesso, al di là del fatto che il contenuto sia figurativo o astratto, una rappresentazione drammatica o un divertente fumetto: le opere su carta hanno quindi un particolare fascino ed offrono all’osservatore visioni e sensazioni più diverse.
The title indicates that the exhibition presents “art papers”, which means that all the works on display are artworks on and/or with paper. We chose different techniques, from drawing to photography, from collage to comics, from illustration to “sculpture” covered with paper. At the same time the artists come from different places, from the high north to the low south of the country, from central Italy without leaving out those ones from Umbria region. The age and curricula of the artists are also different, however all of them are of excellent level, both those already established and those who are still at the beginning of their artistic career. “Paper” is a material that has always fascinated artists, beyond the operational specifications of each one of them; so there are sculptors who love drawing, precisely of sculpture, architects drawings (planning but not only), painters and draftsmen drawings, and at the same time paper is the material used for collages and decollage and for the photographic prints. The hand runs across the sheet almost guided by a force that emanates from the sheet itself, beyond the fact whether the content is figurative or abstract, a dramatic performance or a funny comic: therefore, the works of art on paper have a peculiar charm and they offer to the observer the most different visions and sensations.
